Port Renfrew Marina has just been informed by the DFO that there is a Sockeye opening effective at 12:01 A.M. August 5, 2010. You are allowed four a day with possession four. Fishing remains very good and the weather has calmed right down.
Port Renfrew Marina is having it's 13th annual Labor Day Derby on Sept. 4th and 5th. All Proceeds of this derby go to the local hatchery in Port Renfrew which has not had any additional funding from the government since 1992. A big part of the success of this derby relies on the generosity of the people and businesses who donate to this cause. If you are interested in making a donation in the way of cash or a item for a prize or you know of a business that may be interested please contact the office at the marina and we can discuss it. The number is 250 483-1878. The derby tickets will be on sale at the marina nearing the derby time and are $50.00 a ticket (per rod) and includes a t-shirt, dinner, beverage and a live band. It's always a good time so come and participate for a good cause.
