Here is it August already and the fishing at Port Renfrew Marina for Chinooks has really picked up along the shore. Camper Creek was the hot spot Sunday through to Tuesday with three and four hour bites. Lots of regulars were commenting that it was" just like the old days." Lots of limit catches of nice fish coming to the docks. Anchovies and coyote spoons being the lure of choice. Coho are still around in huge numbers out about one mile from shore. Hoochies in green and white are working well.
Swiftsure Banks "chicken ranch" is still producing limit catches of everything and the weather has been calm enough for just about all boats out there to go and enjoy the harvest.
